How to Use This Site

 

This site has been designed to help women of all ages purchase clothing that is flattering on their individual body shape. There are many different body shapes, but to simplify the matter- I have narrowed them down to 6 shapes plus tall and short.

 

To begin, first decide your overall shape.  You will fit into one of these shapes- maybe not exactly, but it will give you a good starting point.  It would be impossible to fit every woman perfectly, so please understand that within these basic shapes, there are degrees to consider. You may be on the heavy or light side of a pear shape and depending on which, you may not be able to wear the clothing that was chosen specifically for your shape.

 

It is not a perfect science, but I guarantee if you shop with me, over time, YOU will be able to create the perfect style for YOU.  My plan is not only to offer you a wide selection of boutique quality clothing, but also offer you a lifetime of accumulated fashion knowledge acquired through trial and error. Even better, I will help you to bypass the trial and error and go straight to "This looks great on me!!!"

 

Believe me; I have lived through many body shapes so far in my life. I started out as a chubby child, then I moved to an hourglass, but that didn't last long. Then I gave birth twice as an apple, and now I am watching as my once fairly tight midriff falls down inch by inch and melts into my waist, butt and hips to create a pear/apple. Oh yea- I forgot to mention I went from being a 5'5" average height to a 5'3" petite... Now I know where those missing 2" went.

 

As you can see, many women are frequently combinations of shapes. Our bodies are always changing and we must be able to adapt to our most recent shape. The most important thing to remember is balance. Our goal is to achieve a proportional body shape by tricking the eye using color, styles, jewelry, accessories and whatever else we can find in our closet!

 

Once you understand the concept, you will be able to create your own style. You can find the basic shapes under the "By Body Shape" tab where they are described in simple terms. To help you even more, you search the site based on body shapes or specifically by item.

 

One more thing-

There are a few prerequisites here at Clothes Befitting. One is that you accept the fact THAT YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL and the other is you must HAVE FUN!
